Sound Healing Benefits

Sound healing is a tool used to move us from an imbalance to a place of balance. Sound healing is also known as music therapy. It is an ancient tool that various indigenous people used.

Considering everything has a vibrational frequency, it makes sense that songs and sounds emit certain emotions from us. In ancient practice, healers used sound healing to balance out your body and fasten the healing process.

Sound healing reduces anxiety, stress, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, boosts immunity, and healing insomnia. Music therapy achieves this by lowering blood pressure and heartbeat rate and increasing blood circulation. Its origin could be ancient Greece because it’s one of the places that sound healing dates back a few centuries. In ancient Greece, it was used by the monks to heal mental illnesses.

What is Sound Healing?

Sound healing uses music to help with physical and emotional well-being. If you’re to partake in this healing method, you need a trained practitioner to do it. Sound healing helps by providing brainwaves with a steady frequency, which allows us to move from our ordinary consciousness to a relaxed consciousness, leading to one going into a meditative and delta state where internal healing occurs.

Vibrational instruments used in sound healing include; Tibetan singing bowls, tuning forks, and gongs. These instruments provide the necessary vibrations to take your consciousness to that healing stage.

Sound therapy refers to a range of ways in which sound is used to heal mental and physical conditions. Sound therapy has been used by indigenous communities around the world in healing ceremonies.

Sound healing is often led by a healing practitioner and can take multiple forms such as; sound baths, guided meditation, or dance. These various types of sound healing formats help focus on physical or mental well-being.

Each instrument serves its purpose. Crystal balls are tuned to the notes of the seven chakras, while the gong helps relieve tension in the body and stimulate the nervous system.

During most music therapy sessions, you will be encouraged to participate. While in some sessions, you will remain silent as you allow the sounds to affect your body.

First off, you’ll have an immense sense of calmness and peace. Your whole body will feel relaxed, and all that you have been worried about moments before won’t seem like such a big deal.
