It can feel isolating to walk through this kind of loss. You find yourself out of sync with the “normal” world. Some days, words can’t begin to touch what you feel inside. And yet, even in that darkness, your love for them still lives — inside you, around you, through you.

Why I Created This Space


Hi, I’m Ashlee Sunshine, creator of Sunshine Paradise Retreat, yoga teacher, and holistic lifestyle guide. My retreats have been featured in top-tier wellness publications including Outside Magazine, Yoga Journal, OM Yoga Magazine, Spirituality & Health, and the Guardian. With a BA in Philosophy, a Minor in Clinical Psychology and over 1,500 hours of yoga and meditation teacher training from esteemed institutions around the world, including the birthplace of yoga in India and Nepal, I consistently deliver five-star transformative experiences, underscoring my dedication to providing top-notch service and designing sacred spaces for professionals to find balance, peace, and well-being.


In March 2025, my partner and soulmate passed away after complications from a brain aneurysm rupture. It shattered the life I’d built with him — and yet, in that darkness, I found tools that helped me breathe through the unimaginable: meditation, mindful movement, community, and more.


I am not here to heal you. I am here to sit with you, to share what has helped me, and to hold space as we walk this path together. This experience broke me open in ways I never imagined. I learned that grief doesn’t end — it becomes a part of us, shaping how we see the world, how we love, and how we choose to keep living.


I created Sacred Stillness: A 3-Day Online Conscious Grief Retreat because I know how much it matters to sit in circle with others who truly understand.


To share the silence.

To share the tears.

To share the moments of remembering.

To know, deep down: you are not alone.


What to Expect


Over the course of one weekend — from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon — we will gather together on Zoom for a gentle rhythm of meditation, walking meditation, optional gentle yoga, shared virtual meals, and Conscious Grief Circles where you can speak, listen, or simply be held.


This is not about “fixing” you.

You are not broken.

This is about honoring your grief — your beloved — and remembering that in community, the burden is a little lighter to carry.


A Peek Into Our Weekend Schedule


Here’s how we’ll spend our days (Pacific Time):


Opening Day — Friday

8:00am: Check-In & Formal Opening

9:00am: Guided Meditation

Walking & Sitting Meditations, optional Gentle Yoga with me, lunch break, and our afternoon Conscious Grief Circle.

We’ll continue with evening meditations and reflection until we gently close the day together.


Saturday:

We begin with morning meditation and breakfast, then move through a day of sitting and walking meditations, yoga, meals, and our afternoon Conscious Grief Circle.

Evenings will offer time for more reflection and stillness.


Sunday:

Our final day opens with guided meditation and breakfast, followed by our last meditations, gentle yoga, and a final Connection Circle to close our sacred container together.


The Conscious Grief Circle


Our daily grief circles are the heart of this retreat.

This is a sacred, supportive, non-judgmental space to share your story, your memories, your silence — whatever you need.

Here’s how each circle will gently flow:


• Grounding Meditation: We’ll begin with a short meditation to arrive together.

• Sharing Time: An open space for anyone who wishes to speak what’s in their heart.

• Q&A / Group Support: An opportunity for collective support, reflections, and witnessing.

• Closing Gratitude Meditation: We end with gratitude for our beloveds, for each other, and for this precious space.
